Classes are closed please read below
Hello I am sorry we suddenly lost our venue and cannot offer any classes, the only thing I can offer is a home visit its approximately 90 minutes and covers everything I cover in the classes, plus anything you write down that you need help with, cost of that is £100.00 I cant recommend a class because the dog training world has changed into the philosophy of not telling dogs no just distracting bad behaviours with treats and toys. That is a silly process as it encourages the dog to continue the behaviour Which is why I carried on just doing a puppy class as I had a fractured spine due to an unfortunate incident.
If the dog lived with a pack of dogs and it did something wrong a higher ranking dog would let the transgressor know that's not acceptable behaviour , why as humans think we know better than nature
My formula that stood me well for 45 years is make good behaviour rewarding make bad behaviour unrewarding and treat the dog like a dog love it all you want but try and love it on your terms more than theirs.
To all the dogs and owners I have met over the last 45 years thank you for your trust and enthusiasm every dog every client teaches us something new I leave this website up so some of that knowledge passes on
We are based in Southgate, North London where we do both indoor and outdoor classes . Our emphasis is on the key points that underlie all successful dog training: Teaching you how to interact with your dog so it understands what you want from it, recalling your dog, and getting your dog focused on and more interested in being with you.
Classes are held on Sundays in Southgate from 9 am to 11 am.
Most dog schools train in halls, our facilities are second to none. We have a spacious hall, a secure fenced off puppy area outside and a field the size of 4 football pitches that is also secure.

We also offer private lessons and behavioural consultations all over London and the Home Counties. Our aim is to foster a better understanding between you and your dog and make your partnership a happier one. A trained dog is a pleasure to own, and a dog under control can have so much more freedom and enjoy a happier life. The methods we use are simple, effective, and easy to follow - and they are kind and non-confrontational. We aim to help you gain control and understanding of your dog and its needs, in order to make both of your lives happier.
I must emphasise that we are a fun-based dog-training club. If it's strict obedience you require then we are not for you - but we can happily point you in the direction of those who are.
We have just completed two courses with Roland, starting with our Cocker Spaniel puppy at the age of 10 weeks and the training has been superb. Roland cannot do enough for the people on his courses and it is obviously a passion rather than a business! I would highly recommend to anyone to attend Roland's classes and having had dogs before we have never had such a well behaved dog that we can trust around people and other dogs when off the lead. His prices are very reasonable compared to other classes and he goes that extra step when a dog needs it by arranging one on one personal visits. We would like to thank Roland and wish him the best for the future. Liam Bateman
